I can already feel the summer heatwave slowly rolling in, which is awesome for fun in the sun but it also means the time is soon coming to put my favorite articles of clothing to bed… jackets. To celebrate the last of jacket season, this post is dedicated to my favorite spring coat, anything patent. In particular my ASOS faux shearling patent jacket (now on sale for $80), which fast became my Spring obsession! I get super modern Penny Lane vibes when I wear this thing and just love how versatile the juxtaposition of futuristic vinyl and retro shearling is. It goes with EVERYTHING but is also a strong statement that will have people asking where you got it every time you leave the house!

Patent/Vinyl is the perfect material for Spring jackets because it’s lightweight, massively on-trend and almost seems like it wood be water resistant because it’s somewhat reminiscent of raincoat material. Something about enduring the Spring rain in a patent coat just seems like a better idea than traditional leather or denim… wet denim, UGH! I can’t say it’s scientifically proven that patent serves as better protection in the rain but in my head it totally makes sense so let’s just go with it because it looks freaking cute. From biker jackets to mid-thigh length chic and even a tradition denim jacket shape patent is taking over the Spring jacket game so get on it before it’s too late!
