I love my husband and I love all of the British traditions that have become part of mine and my kids’ lives because of him …except when it comes to holiday meals.
We tend to be filled with gratitude and laugh extra hard during the holidays, but there’s a few things that always bubble up to the surface around that time, too. The same family tensions and confrontations that most people face around the holiday dining table, glares over who has hogged the baby cuddles more that day and yes, as trivial as it may seem, butting heads over what should go on the holiday menu.
most magical time of year, so naturally we want our own traditions to carry on. Over the years, we’ve both compromised and now, nearly a decade in, we’ve landed on some kind of British/Canadian/American mish mash of a menu that’s comprised of each of our must-haves.
This holiday season, we’ll be hosting one gathering and traveling for another, so our needs are all over the map. From last-minute grocery items to gifts and baby travel essentials, the “to buy” list is never-ending as new things pop up every day. Between a heavy end of year workload and looking after two babies, there’s never any time to whip out and run daily errands, so our Walmart+ membership has been a saving grace! If you’re anything like us, we’re placing online orders for our household and holiday needs daily, at the moment. With Walmart+, members get unlimited free delivery, so you can place orders to your heart’s desire without worrying about shipping costs adding up!
As I’m sure you’re well aware, Walmart sells everything you need for every day life and the holiday season. We’ve been getting fresh groceries delivered straight to our door twice a week and because we’re members, we get free same-day delivery …which will come in handy for the very last-minute shopping I’m doing for the holiday gathering I’m hosting! I’ve also been stocking up on gifts for our kids and niece, who we haven’t seen since Christmas 2019, so you know she’ll be getting spoiled by Auntie Sheena and Uncle Joshy this year!
From food to toys to clothes to baby gear and tech gadgets, there’s a lot on our list this holiday season and as a mom of two, convenience is key! I’ve relied on Walmart as our one stop shop since Bowie was an infant and being a Walmart+ member now makes it that much more convenient to get this work-from-home #momlife taken care of day in and day out! Saves me and Josh a lot of time and bickering over the small stuff when you can get everything you need done in one click, especially on the days you don’t have time to talk until after bedtime! Visit Walmartplus.com to start your free trial, today.
I’m curious …what are your holiday menu must-haves?
My Nonna’s pumpkin pie and the English fave – Yorkshire pudding – are definitely ours!
