Today’s post is an extra special one because not only does it walk you through two totally unique takes on how to style a trend I’ve been eyeing for ages, it also features an amazingly ultra cool guest, Erica from Fashion Lush … who I may or may not have a major girl crush on! Erica is a blogger/influencer from San Diego who I connected with when doing outreach for my new subscription box, The Badass Box. In an effort to get badasses on board to support the box, I was looking to find cool girls who inspired me to collab with in any capacity possible and one of those badasses was Erica! Yaaaassss, ladies! It’s time for badass female to unite and support each other! Check out Erica’s full review of The Badass Box and interview with me HERE!
Per her suggestion, we thought it be fun to do a little San Diego vs LA styling of the same item for our readers and it was an item I’ve been crushing on from afar for months and one that is super comfy and majorly on-trend for Spring: the utility jumpsuit! This particular jumpsuit is from Missguided, I opted for army green while Erica went with a khaki tone. While our specific jumpsuit is no longer available online, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite utility-style rompers for you to shop below!
LA VIBES

When styling my jumpsuit I opted for comfort first and foremost because this is definitely the type of outfit you can wear for a full day out or even from day to night. I feel like the perfect places to wear this are a music festival, a flea market, a shopping day or anywhere really that you are going to be for hours on end because it really is that comfy and yes, that cool. The piece looks so effortlessly chic no matter how you style it really but LA loves a comfy sandals and some vintage accessories so I opted to incorporate some of my favorite LA-inspired staples. Because I’m short and a jumpsuit is a lot of uniform fabric, I chose sandals that gave me a bit of height to elongate my look. I stuck with neutral tones all around to compliment the army green I had going on and went with a vintage Louis Vuitton backpack (a flea market jackpot find!) because on long days out, I like to be totally hands free for optimal comfort. I then just threw my hair up in a messy topknot (as you often do in the LA heat) to expose the jumpsuit’s cool collar and again, elongate my look. To style out my messy updo, I added a bandana as a headband and some gold hoops. To finish off my look, I chose some funky gold, round sunnies I also picked up at some flea market along the way. LA loves a pair of unique sunnies!

SAN DIEGO VIBES

Erica seemed to opt for a more sleek and chic take on the utility jumpsuit. It’s something I could totally see a Kardashian or J.Lo rocking. Stunning! She kept the nude tone down to her toes with gorgeous sock boots, which are still super on trend for Spring. I have yet to purchase a pair myself but after seeing how she styled them so effortlessly, I think I may finally give in and grab some myself! She kept her accessories super simple with a vintage gold chain belt and a pair of the Lolita sunnies from Le Specs that I have been dying to own! They’re so chic and edgy but literally seem to look good on everyone! She added to the polished styling of her jumpsuit with a super slick ponytail, which I totally envy because her long, vibrant hair looks so damn good! Again, major thanks Erica for not only doing this collab with me but also inspiring me so much! Influencer you are indeed because you totally influenced me to make several additions to my wardrobe with this gorgeous look! Go get some inspo from this badass babe on her blog Fashion Lush now if you haven’t already!!!
