My obsession with berets has definitely followed me into 2018 but this year I’m putting a heavy metal spin on things to keep it fresh! Metal eyelets/grommets are something I remember growing up from my mama. Not sure if it was an 80s or 90s thing but man, she loved them. Surprise, surprise, like everything other passé trend, they’re baaack! I really can’t get enough of this formerly turn-my-nose-up-at trend. From lace up to grommet adorned for no reason jeans, these metal details add the perfect punch of style to take your plain ol’ black jeans from boring and basic to anything but. With a pair of these on, you can wear the simplest outfit and will still get compliments everywhere you go. Winning!

If you’re not totally sold and want to rock this trend in smaller doses, an accessory is the way to go. Then again, if you’re like me and want to scream ‘I LOVE GROMMETS’ loud and proud, you can wear it all the same time! Hats, belts and shoes look phenomenal adorned with these little metal eyelets and are a tasteful way to add some badass edge to any outfit. I was thrilled to find my Glamorous Wool Beret with Metal Eyelets from ASOS because I had fallen in love with a super similar beret from The Kooples weeks prior and this one was 1/4 of the price! I also totally forgot to put on a vintage eyelet belt I scored for $10 in San Fran for this shoot but found an almost identical one that you can grab from MANGO called the Eyelets Patent Belt for $19.99! The shoes I’m wearing are indeed another ASOS treasure. I won’t lie to you, they are a knockoff of the Robert Clergergie x Self Portrait shoes that I was too late to buy because they’ve been totally sold out in my size for ages. Although, perhaps it was all a blessing in disguise because these Stradivarius Multi Buckle Court Shoes with Silver Heels are only $31 while the OGs were $595!
