This is my first holiday season settled into my house and I decided to donate all of my Christmas decorations and start fresh this year! I’m obsessed with a modern industrial/farmhouse mashup of home decor so I opted to depart from traditional holiday colors and stick to crisp chalk white, rose gold and pearlescent ivory to suit the theme of my everyday home decor! Since we travel a lot and have a small dog that loves to get into the pine needles and lights, we opted for a faux tree with pre-strung lights. I always turned my nose up at fake trees as a kid but when you’re a grown up, convenience is key so I’m all for it these days! On top of the basic ornaments in my chosen pearlescent and glittery tones of rose gold and ivory, I added some unique rustic touches with items found in the floral section of my local craft store! Snow covered twig balls and metallic and glitter sprigs of leaves made the perfect accents I was looking for! Sadly, my ceiling is too short for the rustic twine star I found and had to return but I did add an industrial finish with a galvanized tub inspired tree base that I LOVE!

To give my tabletops some holiday love, I DIY-ed some adorable Christmas cutout mason jar candle holders in chalk white and rose gold for ambient lighting. I also put together some festive faux floral displays in my color scheme making sure to add some wooden branches to the bunch to keep things rustic and warm. A great tip for these displays: filling the base of your vase with moss/straw will hide the obviously fake tips while doubling as an added rustic touch! I also DIY-ed a couple of different tabletop Christmas trees and transformed a couple bags of pine cones into gorgeous festive decorations.
